Temporary Leave of my Senses

So where I have been is renovating my house. A plan that was clearly hatched while my rational sense was on Christmas break.

And by "renovating" I mean "making a big mess".

Why do this? Oh, because why not - right? And because I read Katy Elliots blog one too many times.

This project so far has entailed me packing up all my stuff & putting it in the basement, moving myself into my guest room, and basically gutting every room.

GAH!

Thankfully I have a fantastic foreman on the job who kicks my ass when I slack off. And in an effort to perhaps get yet MORE work done after my regular work, I gave her my computer in an attempt to not couch flop and surf all night.

Which is why I am currently staying late and posting this, so I can go home and get back to work.

My house better effing rock SO hard after this!!!!

I will post some pictures of the kitchen so you can really appreciate the job I am facing!

Tonight I made Peach Somethingorother. It was supposed to be like a kind of peach butter, however I didn't really use a recipe and I think I added a little more sugar than I ought. Breakfast at Toro

I tried to take my Irish friends to Mike's City Diner for breakfast this weekend and I really just should have known better. The problem at Mike's is that even if it's only 6 people waiting, there is some weird optical illusion in that place that makes it looks like 46 people are waiting. We didn't want to wait. And we didn't want to walk. So we had breakfast at Toro . What an excellent second choice. First off the woman who was working our table was absolutely lovely, and second off the food was a pleasant surprise, in that it was delicious and not a giant huge plate of food. There are those who feel that more is better and there are those who feel that less is more. I have a foot in both camps. There is never enough french fries but for the most part I prefer a little deliciousness more frequently than a big plate of something I just really need a taste of. Something like that anyway. Aggressive coffee.

The Evil Twin got us iced coffees this morning because it's what you do in Boston when the temps are above 40 degrees. Apparently she ordered hers "fucked up with 28 splenda". There is no other explanation. Unless it's "fuck you and your 28 splenda".
